Three surfaces of section (Pioncare maps) that reveal the dynamics of relativistic, high-energy particles. All show return maps of the relativistic Henon-Heiles model, for different parameter sets. The total energy increases from left to right. Sequences of stable and unstable periodic solutions are visible, and the latter are surrounded by regions of chaotic motion.
